Training
My training is designed to be both flexible and bespoke to every client.

When I approach any group I like to get a firm understanding of what the group wants to learn that day so that they feel they are getting valuable help in the time we have.

When dealing with young people I believe it is beneficial for them to explore the theories around the topic before discussing the practical advice and tips that can enhance them in their roles. Young minds in particular appreciate understanding where that advice has come from and that it is grounded in good theory.

I also ensure that I establish the use of preferred pronouns at the beginning of the session and talk about my background with each subject.
Leadership
A key part of my leadership training is enabling young people to understand that they already have the skills to be great leaders and that leadership isn't something that is out of there reach.

It focuses on their journey to leadership and how that journey has made them qualified to lead and create change.

We also explore motivators and how to best understand peoples' motivation in order to effectively lead them.

This session has been run as both a one day and residential course for young leaders.

Public Speaking & Presenting
I have been running this course for nearly 7 years. Over 3-5 hours we explore the nature of public speaking and how to identify what type of public speaker everyone is.

We cover a practical session in how to manage nerves and the keys to essential preparation to make any speech a success.

The group will then learn how humans behave as tribes and how we can use that tribal nature to change attitudes and opinions.

This training is designed for staff members or young people who want to develop into strong public speakers.

Chairing and Facilitation
We often get asked to Chair meetings without any training on how to be effective, so we end up copying the last Chair we saw in action. This has led to ineffective meetings with poor outcomes.

In this session, we explore how being a Chair and a facilitator are two different skills and what they both contribute to a meeting

The group will gain an understanding of how to effectively Chair meetings and how to be a confident facilitator. We also give practical advice on how to manage the problems that plague most meetings.

This training is designed for people who may be new to a Chairing role or are struggling to Chair groups.
